Happy New Year! Here at Mikken, I used the last rays of 2023’s light to get some juicy yoga practice in, and spend time with loved ones – I hope you all had a wonderful year’s end, and are looking at a sparkling start to 2024!
For me, 2023 was a mixed bag… lots of personal growth driven by some fairly dramatic upheavals and changes in my life situation. These changes were unexpected and quite painful at first, but ultimately illuminating and freeing. And they are continuing to serve as a way for me to self-reflect and learn about myself – the good, the bad, and the ugly. Change is good, and change is inevitable, and change can be the much-needed compost to help our forest of insight and inspiration flourish. But blah blah blah – onwards and upwards!
In 2024, I want to see this insight, love, and inspiration grow. Like, a lot! And that is exactly why Mikken Designs is here – it’s here to inspire you! Let’s do this:

I originally started creating jewelry because while I could find pieces that I liked, I didn’t see much that I LOVED. I’d see pieces where I loved the stones, but thought the construction shabby or overwrought. I’d see pieces where I admired the craftsmanship, but found the materials too flashy or too pricey or simply unappealing. I always wanted something a bit different… something more rustic, but make it elegant and not lumpy. Something more textural, lighter, easier to wear. Something with less symmetry, and more balance. Something that made me feel tasteful, chic, elegant, and stylish. But something that also evoked an earthiness, a primordial female energy, that MILF energy.
Jewelry is a form of self-expression, and the pieces I love are more like personal talismans – filled with personal, even spiritual, meaning. Mikken Designs, then, was born to create jewelry that celebrates this talismanic aspect. I make pieces that inspire you to access your inner truth and energy. While I offer plenty of ready-to-wear jewelry, my first and primary love is collaborating with my clients to create one-of-a-kind pieces, those personal talismans that I make for myself.
