New Bespoke: Floresta Mala

New Bespoke: Floresta Mala

Another gorgeous custom piece. I was wearing one of my mamas at my favorite yoga class with all my favorite yoga people there, and one of said favorites asked me to make her one! She is a gorgeous woman who looks stunning in deep green (and, she has a green mat so...). We decided on a green theme! And with that guidance, I set to work! I knew I wanted to use these incredible and somewhat raw green tourmaline rounds I'd just snagged, and complement it with some sparks of red and black. After it was completed, I decided to call it the Floresta mala. Floresta means forest or jungle in Portuguese, and this is a mala to connect with your inner wild animal, BAMF, your true strength and wisdom. It is made from dark green tourmaline, bloodstone jasper, red jade, green garnet, green goldstone, and black glass trading beads. It is finished with a labradorite charm, black glass talhakimt, and tiny black tassel. Shine on, you crazy diamond.

Tourmaline comes in many colors, and is popular for energetic protection and balancing yin & yang energies. Balancing all chakras, it can dissolve challenging energy and negative thought patterns, transmuting them into more beneficial energy and beliefs. It can be used to invite passion and love into one's life. Jasper is known as the "supreme nurturer". Celebrated for its slow, grounding frequency, it can promote emotional stability and bring a profound sense of wholeness and tranquility.

Jade has been in use for millennia across the globe, found in jewelry, elevated household objects, ceremonial artifacts, musical instruments, statues, and even for use in fashioning weaponry. Jade is valued not only for its beauty, but also its healing and protective properties. Considered a “dream stone,” jade has been used to access the spiritual realm, enhance creativity, and promote peace and healing. As a talisman of friendship and luck, jade also signifies wisdom gathered in tranquility, dispelling the negative and encouraging one to see oneself as they really are. Jade comes in many colors, but green jade is associated with the heart chakra and used to encourage confidence, self-love, and self-healing.

Garnets are amplifying stones with solid grounding and protecting energy. And again, garnets support bringing things to life - manifestation. They are also revitalizing, boosting your energy and helping you with transitions you may face, such as major life events, or interior barriers such as emotional trauma or limiting beliefs.

Labradorite is known as a stone of transformation, used to heighten intuition and shield against negative energy or other unwanted outside influence. Tied to the third eye and crown chakras, use it to tap into your inner wisdom and deeper spiritual knowing, access source, and support perseverance in personal growth. Its ability to soothe the mind's activity can aid in reflection and creativity.
