New Bespoke: Muladhara Mala

New Bespoke: Muladhara Mala

I was super psyched for this custom piece I made for a very special woman! We selected the stones for her birthday (omg, over six months ago!). We went shopping together for stones and she picked out a few of the main stones she liked, sharing with me what color ways she was into and I selected a few complementary stones. I also knew I had some stones back at my studio that would complement as well. Ultimately, I decided to call it the Muladhara mala.

Muladhara is the root chakra. Located at the base of the spine, this chakra (or energy center) governs the fundamentals of feeling safe, secure, and stable. The mala is made from bloodstone jasper, red brecciated jasper, garnet, green goldstone, red tiger’s eye, madre de cacao wood, and black agate. It is finished with a silk tassel and labradorite charm.

Jasper is known as the "supreme nurturer". Celebrated for its slow, grounding frequency, it can promote emotional stability and bring a profound sense of wholeness and tranquility. Bloodstone jasper in particular is renowned as a stone for courage, protection, and vitality. Red brecciated jasper (brecciated meaning strewn with angular fragments) is known for its ability to bring vitality, focus, and mental clarity.

Garnets are amplifying stones with solid grounding and protecting energy. And again, garnets support bringing things to life - manifestation. They are also revitalizing, boosting your energy and helping you with transitions you may face, such as major life events, or interior barriers such as emotional trauma or limiting beliefs.

Madre de cacao wood, or cacahuanāntli in the Nahuatl (Aztec) language, is a fast-growing tree used to shade cacao and coffee crops in central america. Its beautiful fine grain and rich dark color made it a gorgeous addition to this grounding and soothing piece. Agate is the stone of perception and inner strength. Agate brings a sense of calm security and helps you to slow down and get centered in order to balance the mind, body, and spirit.

Tiger’s eye is a grounding and protective stone associated with the root and solar plexus chakras. Its energy helps with confidence and courage, especially when it comes to taking action from a logical place rather than your emotions. Tiger’s eye expands awareness, increasing the ability to see new ideas and solutions, and aiding in seeing the world in a more positive, optimistic way. Red tiger’s eye in particular is used to promote motivation, courage, and vitality.

Labradorite is known as a stone of transformation, used to heighten intuition and shield against negative energy or other unwanted outside influence. Tied to the third eye and crown chakras, use it to tap into your inner wisdom and deeper spiritual knowing, access source, and support perseverance in personal growth. Its ability to soothe the mind's activity can aid in reflection and creativity.
