Sirona wrap

We put a little attitude in this piece, sunny yellow citrine with a pop of black in the shungite and onyx accents. Named after Sirona, a goddess in the Celtic polytheistic traditions associated with health and healing springs, this gorgeous shining piece is made from polished citrine rounds and accented with shungite. A citrine teardrop focal sits at the center, and it is finished with a gold plated toggle and hand-wrapped charms of polished citrine and an onyx spike.

About Citrine

Citrine is often referred to as the “merchant stone”, for its sunny color resembles gold. It is associated with wealth and abundance, but also sunny joy and optimism. Citrine brings light and new beginnings, and is thought to be a powerful stone for manifestation, awakening creativity and motivation. Natural citrine is one of the few stones that is believed to not need energetic cleansing (the other is kyanite) – instead of accumulating negative energy, it transmutes, dissipates, and grounds it. This makes it an excellent stone for promoting mental health, balanced relationships, and releasing fear or anger. To ancient Romans, citrine was the stone of Mercury, the messenger god, and was used to improve communication and attract wealth. Citrine also balances the manipura (second), solar plexus (third), and crown (seventh) chakras to balance and open them, bringing inner strength, confidence, and intuition.

About Shungite

Shungite was first named in 1879 by a Russian geologist for deposits found near the village of Shunga in the Republic of Karelia, Russia. At that time however, it had already been in use among the locals of the region for hundreds of years for purifying bathing and drinking water. When Tsar Peter the Great stopped in Karelia with his army, he was told by residents to bathe in water from an outcropping of shungite. He felt so refreshed by this, he commissioned the first spa in the area to make use of shungite. Shungite is volcanic in origin, and some deposits are found in areas that are believed to have been biologically rich lagoons over two billion years ago due to its high concentration of carbon. Shungite is a mineraloid, a mineral-like substance that doesn't crystallize, that can be made of up to 98% carbon by weight. The variance in carbon content is why shungite is classified as shungite-1 through shungite-5. Shungite-5 is made up of approximately 10 percent carbon by weight. While most shungite is found deep in the earth, it can also be found pushed near the surface in areas of volcanic, or formerly volcanic, activity. Some shungite specimens also contain fullerenes, which are a special arrangement of carbon atoms forming a ball (sometimes called “Buckyballs” after the famous architect Buckminster Fuller).
