This wrap bracelet complements the manipura chakra, which is the third chakra (energy nexus) located just below the bellybutton. The word manipura is Sanskrit: "mani" means "gem", and "pura" means "city", therefore the literal meaning of this chakra is "city of jewels". This chakra is linked to confidence, inner strength, and wellbeing. Associated with the color yellow and linked to the element fire, this chakra invokes the willpower required to achieve our true desires. When the manipura chakra is in balance, we manifest courage, drive, and passion. In an imbalanced state, we may feel as though we have lost our lust for life, or drive for wellbeing.
In yogic philosophy, our prana (life force) flows through nadis (energy channels) in the body. There are thousands of nadis in the body, but the most important (or, at least well-known) is the sushumna nadi, which is called the central channel and runs along the spine. The chakras then are points where nadis connect, accumulating prana. Chakras are therefore considered energy centers, and although there are countless chakras in the body, the most well-known are those that reside along the sushumna nadi. Balancing your chakras is considered the key to raising your energy and elevating your state of consciousness.

Mikken Designs always uses natural, unaltered gemstones, unless otherwise indicated.
Over time, the metal components may tarnish or fade. To keep them shining, please store your piece in a jewelry pouch or soft cloth, and avoid direct contact with water (shower, bath, hot tub, sweating) as well as beauty products such as perfume.
To clean, mix a few drops of gentle dish soap and water, and soak for about a minute. Use a soft cloth to gently rub it clean. Ensure you rinse & dry thoroughly.
To clean the mixed metal spacer beads, cover the beads in ketchup (yes!), let sit for a minute, then rinse thoroughly and wipe clean with a soft toothbrush or cloth. You can also clean with mild soap and water, but this may require more patience & a bit more scrubbing. Dry thoroughly.
